Custom-Made Dentures

All dentures are custom-made and fit to ensure comfort, especially when speaking, chewing, and smiling. The longer you have your dentures for, the more likely your gums will naturally shrink over time and alter the fit and tightness of the denture. Often, this can be addressed by doing a simple reline and adding more material to where the gums have shrunk. This avoids the necessity for a new denture, the use of denture adhesives, or denture glues, which can be messy.

Procedure for Dentures

1

Consultation & Assessment

At your first visit, we’ll perform a full oral health evaluation, talk through your concerns, and explain the different denture options available. This step ensures we have a clear understanding of your needs before moving forward.

2

Planning & Impressions

Once we know which solution is best for you, we’ll take precise impressions and measurements of your mouth. These allow us to design dentures that fit comfortably and restore both the function and appearance of your smile.

3

Fitting & Adjustments

After your dentures are custom-made, you’ll return for a fitting where we make sure everything feels right and looks natural. Adjustments are made as needed so that chewing, speaking, and smiling feel as comfortable as possible.

4

Follow-Up Care

Our care doesn’t stop once you leave with your new dentures. We’ll schedule follow-up visits to check on your progress, fine-tune the fit if necessary, and make sure you’re adapting well to your new smile.

Types of Dentures

Full Dentures

Full dentures are a removable prostheses used when all teeth on the top, bottom, or both are missing. These are fully removable and not “fixed” in the mouth. Partial dentures stay in place by clasping existing teeth that remain. Complete Upper Dentures stay in via the suction action of the musculature in the mouth, and Complete Lower Dentures stay in the mouth through gravity and some retention from the gums. Complete Lower Dentures generally do not stay in very well on their own. Usually, at least two dental implants or, less often, the use of denture adhesives is required to aid in their retention.

Partial Dentures

We offer two kinds of partial dentures:

1. Cast Metal Partial Dentures

Cast metal partial dentures are known for their strength and durability. They use a thin metal framework for support, which makes them less bulky and more comfortable than other options. Because of their precise fit and high level of retention, they often feel more stable during eating and speaking.

2. Acrylic Partial Dentures

Acrylic partial dentures are typically a more affordable option and use less metal, which can make them more appealing for some patients. However, they tend to be bulkier than cast metal dentures and may not stay in place as securely. They are often used as a temporary or transitional solution but can also serve as a long-term option depending on your needs.

Immediate Dentures

If teeth need to be removed, immediate dentures can be placed the same day as your extractions. This allows you to avoid the inconvenience of going without teeth during the healing process. As your gums heal and change shape, adjustments may be needed to ensure a proper fit.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Dental implants can be used to anchor dentures securely in place. This option provides greater stability, prevents slipping, and helps preserve the jawbone. Implant-supported dentures can be fixed or removable depending on your treatment plan.

At Shaban Dental Centre, we offer a full range of cosmetic dentistry dentures, including partial dentures, full dentures, and implant-supported dentures to restore both function and confidence in your smile. Our team can help you understand the different types of dentures and find the best solution for your needs, whether you’re looking for immediate dentures or searching for same day dentures near me.

Dentures are removable dental appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding gum tissue. They restore the ability to chew, speak clearly, and smile confidently.

Dentures are ideal for patients who:

  • Have lost some or all teeth
  • Want a non-invasive solution to restore function and appearance
  • Are not ready for dental implants or bridges

A dentist can determine the best type for each individual.

The process usually involves multiple visits:

  • Impressions of your mouth are taken
  • A custom denture is fabricated in a dental lab
  • Adjustments are made to ensure comfort and proper bite

Modern dentures are designed to look and function like natural teeth. Initially, there may be a short adjustment period for speaking and chewing, but most patients adapt quickly.

  • Clean dentures daily using a soft brush and denture cleaner
  • Remove them at night to allow gums to rest
  • Soak in water or denture solution when not in use
  • Attend regular dental check-ups for adjustments

Dentures typically last 5–8 years, after which they may need relining, rebasing, or replacement due to normal wear or changes in the jaw structure.

Absolutely. Dentures restore facial structure, support lips and cheeks, and provide a natural-looking smile.
